Introduction

Stock Projection takes not only OTTs into consideration, but also the forecasted import returns and export pick-ups. Since the forecast is specified per week, ROCK uses a logic to split it from week to week days. To do this, each week ROCK calculates week to day split, specifying how imports and exports have been distributed across weekdays (see more in Split Ratios).

Applied example

Using the split patterns, the weekly forecast (238) is split to day. The effective number (Column Exp) is set to

  • Past: actual value
  • Today: max(ForecastDay - Actuals; 0) – this effectively sets forecast to 0, if more actuals were seen for the day, than expected
  • Future: ForecastDay

To prevent any rounding issues from the week to day split, any units are corrected by adding/subtracting 1 from the weekday with the highest split ratio.
